Clarify the idea before you build the full plan.
Use short, specific answers. You are not trying to prove the business works yet—you are identifying what you currently believe so you know what to test next.
1What business are you considering?
Describe the idea plainly enough that someone unfamiliar with it could understand it.
2What problem does it solve?
Focus on the customer's problem or desired outcome—not simply what you want to sell.
3Who specifically has that problem?
A useful target customer is more specific than “everyone.” Describe the person, business or organization most likely to need the solution.
4What will you provide?
Describe the product or service and the value the customer receives from it.
5What would success look like 12 months from now?
Choose concrete evidence of progress—customers, revenue, launches, repeat business, partnerships, capacity or another measurable result.
You now have the beginnings of a business plan.
The QuickStart is intentionally focused on idea clarity. When you are ready to build the complete plan, move into the full workbook—or use the book to learn the framework while you build.
Build the full plan with Vision, Mission, Objectives, Strategy, Action Plan, Startup Costs, Narrative, a 90-Day Launch Planner and Assumption Test.
